As our business expands into new territories, we’ve noticed that our projects have become wildly diverse. And rather than being rigid in our ways, we’ve used these experiences to create new playbooks and bolster our capabilities.
We recently broke ground on a project in Berne, Indiana where many of the trades are being performed by members of the Amish community. To accommodate the needs of their horses, we had to install hitching posts at a job site for the first time in our extensive 30-year history. While this is certainly a more humorous example, providing for the needs and safety of our construction sites is always a top priority, whether we’re working in a booming metropolis or a quiet town in middle America.
And while some projects remind us of a time gone by, others put the technological advancements of today’s world on full display. Case in point, we are currently working on a project in the bustling suburb of Plymouth, Massachusetts, with a scope that includes the installation of EV charging stations. The growing prevalence of modern amenities like these means that even with decades of experience, our education remains ongoing.
The juxtaposition of these two worlds could not present a greater contrast, but our ability to navigate these different ways of life only makes us stronger as a company. To be competitive players in the construction industry our team must be prepared to answer every call and adapt to the pace and personality of every region we work in.
