With respect and reverence for their building’s historical significance, the Solidus design team worked closely with the executive team at Windsor Federal Bank to deliver one of our most impactful renovations to date. It was a project meant to showcase what the future holds for an institution deeply connected to its roots and the community it serves.
The building itself is a stunning example of late 1920s craftsmanship, marked by barrel vaulted ceilings and elegant crown moldings; a building cherished and preserved by a bank that values its town’s heritage. Captivating references to the building’s origins and the bank’s evolution are skillfully woven into many of the custom interior finishes and branding elements featured throughout this fresh design.
A striking central teller desk featuring the bank’s brand-new logo commands the attention of visitors, who will be simultaneously drawn into the past through enlarged black and white images of the very same lobby in its early years. In many ways this branch reads like a museum with a modern purpose, exhibiting the richness of its local ancestry and hailing the technological innovations offered in today’s banking services.
With an emphasis on “people over profits” Windsor Federal Bank has upheld the traditions of a world gone by, while actively pursuing a new vision for the future. It was our great honor and privilege to deliver a branch that will help support and champion their efforts for years to come.
